We are delighted to invite proposals for full-day and half-day workshops to be held in conjunction with BESC 2026. The workshops are intended to focused, interactive platforms for in-depth discussion on specialized themes, emerging research directions, and practical applications that complement the main conference track.

We invite innovative workshop proposals that address novel challenges, hot topics, and interdisciplinary intersections in behavioural and social computing. Possible contents of a workshop include but are not limited to invited talks, regular papers/posters, panels, and other pragmatic alternatives. Accepted workshops will be held in conjunction with the main conference, offering organizers and participants the opportunity to engage with the broader BESC community and contribute to the conference's interdisciplinary mission.

Proposal Submission Guidelines

Proposals must be submitted in PDF format and and should not exceed 4 pages, following a clear and concise structure.

Proposals must be sent electronically to the BESC 2026 Workshop Chairs via email: [email protected] or [email protected] with the subject line: BESC 2026 Workshop Proposal - [Workshop Title].

All proposals must include the following key sections:

  • Clear and descriptive workshop title
  • Indicate whether half-day or full-day
  • Tentative program sketch, including tentative descriptions of all workshop components (panels, discussion sessions, poster sessions, invited talks, etc.)
  • Timeline of Important dates, including paper submission deadline and acceptance notification deadline, etc. If you wish to deviate from the suggested deadlines below (see "Important Dates"), a tentative timeline and motivation for why the suggested deadlines are not suitable is required.
  • Detailed description of the workshop's scope and the specific topics to be covered
  • Information of workshop organizers: names, affiliations, and contact information.
  • Expected number of submissions and attendees

Accepted workshop organizers will receive a detailed guide for workshop planning, including paper submission guidelines, formatting requirements, and logistical coordination with the BESC 2026 team.

Workshop Organizers' Responsibilities

The BESC 2026 organizers will provide management of registration for participants; meeting space setup and related equipment, sand coffee-breaks arrangements. The core responsibility of accepted workshop organizers include, but are not limited to:

  • Launch a dedicated workshop website by the specified deadline coordinated with BESC 2026 main track timeline, with clear Call for Papers (CFP) details, submission guidelines, important dates and contact information.
  • Establish a qualified Program Committee (PC) with relevant expertise to manage the whole submission and review process.
  • Complete the review process and send acceptance/rejection notifications to authors by the agreed deadline, with constructive feedback for all submissions.
  • Ensure all accepted papers adhere to BESC 2026’s formatting requirements and page limits, as the workshop intends to publish its proceedings with Springer.
  • Maintain regular and timely communication with the BESC 2026 Organizing Committee, providing updates on paper recruitment, review progress and program planning as requested.
