Welcome to BESC 2021
The International Conference on Behavioral and Social Computing (BESC 2021) aims to become a premier
forum in which academic researchers and industry practitioners from data mining, artificial intelligence,
statistics and analytics, business and marketing, finance and politics, and behavioral, economic, social,
and psychological sciences can present updated research efforts and progresses on foundational and
emerging interdisciplinary topics of BESC, exchange new ideas and identify future research directions.

BESC2021 will be online as a VIRTUAL CONFERENCE, hosted by Hamad Bin Khalifa University,
Doha, Qatar, 29-31 Oct 2021.
COVID-19 Note
The organising committee has decided to deliver BESC 2021 as a virtual event:
- All accepted BESC2021 papers will pay a significantly reduced registration fee, mainly to cover
proceedings, technical and organisational support, and online hosting;
- Paper presentation for BESC 2021 will be live. In addition, authors shall prepare presentations with
audio/video embedded in them. They will be uploaded online and made accessible to the conference
registrants and, with authors’ consent, to the public.
- Both synchronous and asynchronous Q&A will be arranged. This is to accommodate differences in time
zones.
- Authors of BESC2021 accepted papers will be given the option to present in BESC2022; they will pay a
discounted registration fees.

Chair’s Welcome Message
On behalf of the steering committee of the International Conference on Behavioral and Social Computing
(BESC2021), I would like to express our gratitude to Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) for hosting
and supporting BESC 2021. This will be the first edition of this conference in Qatar and the MENA region.
BESC has always been welcoming to new ideas and interdisciplinary research. Our committee includes
world-renowned researchers in AI, social networking, social and cyberpsychology, linguistics, and
human-computer interaction. We aim to receive quality contributions, and we are committed to providing the
best feedback and program to our BESC community.

Dean's Welcome Message
On behalf of the College of Science and Engineering (CSE) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), it is our
honour to host and help organize the 8th International Conference on Behavioural and Social Computing (BESC
2021). I would like to extend my warmest greetings to all the attendees of this excellent event.
CSE aims to be a world-class multidisciplinary college with a significant positive impact on the region and
the world, in the fields of science, engineering, and technology. The interdisciplinary nature of this
conference is unique in terms of topics, organization team, and scientific committee. BESC synergizes fields
like AI, Digital Humanities, Design, and Psychology.
We look forward to seeing high-quality research results presented at the conference and to see the BESC 2021
community growing and becoming internationally recognized in leading these extremely important fields of
