Call for Special Sessions
BESC 2015 aims to increase potential collaborations and partnerships
by bringing together academic researchers and industry practitioners
from data mining, statistics and analytics, business and marketing,
finance and politics, and behavior, economic, social and psychological
sciences with the objectives to present updated research efforts and
progresses on foundational and emerging interdisciplinary topics of
BESC, exchange new ideas and identify future research directions.
The Program Committees of the International Conference on Behavioral,
Economic and Socio-Cultural Computing (BESC 2015) invites proposals
for Special Sessions to be held during the conference in 30 October –
1 November, 2015, Nanjing, China. The special sessions intend to
provide an opportunity to researchers to present and discuss their
work in focused areas, as well as to offer a forum for interaction
among a broader community of researchers. A Special Session will consist
of a group of papers in a sub-discipline of computing related to human
behaviors, economy, and social and cultural issues related to the main
topics of BESC 2015. The papers will be required to meet the same
standards as BESC 2015 papers and will be published by IEEE in the
conference proceedings and included in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library.
Special sessions will also form part of the main conference program.
PROPOSAL SUBMISSION
Please send the Special Session proposals to Xiaohui Tao (xtao@usq.edu.au)
or BAntoaneta Serguieva (A.Serguieva@cs.ucl.ac.uk) with the following information:
1. Title of the special session
2. Names of the special session organizers, the affiliations, the postal
mailing addresses, and the e-mail addresses
3. Short CV of the organizers
4. Publication lists of the organizers (no more than 20)
5. A description of the topics of the special session (not exceeding 200
words)
6. Description of how the special session will contribute to the field of
Behavioral, Economic and Socio-Cultural Computing
7. Short description on how the special session will be advertised so as
to ensure a sufficiently wide range of authors and high quality papers
8. Expected number of paper submissions
9. Information about previous offerings of the proposed special session
by BESC series or other forums (if any).
10. List of potential Program Committee members (if applicable)
11. Information on the potential invited talk(s), and sponsorship (if any)
ORGANIZATIONAL RULES
The organizers will be responsible for the advertisement and promotion
of the special session and the conference including the Special Session
webpage preparation. The management of papers review will be achieved by
Special Session Committees, using the Conference Submission System (a separate
EasyChair track will be provided for each accepted Special Session).
The organizers are responsible for managing the review process. All
the reviews should be submitted through the provided EasyChair track.
Each paper should obtain at least three reviews.

Notification of acceptance: August 12, 2015
